Human interventions in the ecological processes of the seas disrupt their balance. The consequences for the ecosystem impact not only marine life but all life on Earth.
This informative and interactive children’s book follows the plankton Plankie on her journey through the sea. One day, she notices that her beloved coral reef is losing its radiance, so she sets out to save it. Along the way, she encounters many friendly animals who tell her about plastic in the ocean, disappearing fish, and melting ice. Will Plankie be able to help them too?
Children aged 6 and older can explore the seas with Plankie and learn how they can help her save the coral reef.
The character design of Plankie is kept simple.
A compact body allows the small plankton to still be recognizable as such even in a small format.
Emotions are further emphasized by the shape of the body.
The pink cheeks create a complementary contrast to the green body, making Plankie appear livelier.
